  15. sorry about the toaster post on this list earlier, bob and everyone.
  16. (although since i only use lw, it was somewhat appropriate:-))
  17. 1. Speed tests- I rendered the default Texture examples scene with
  18.   2.0 on a GVP 33 030 w/50mhz 882 in 5 mins 32 seconds
  19.   After upgrading to a Zeus 28 040, the same scene under 2.0 ran 5mins 52 secs.
  20.   (due to the slowdown with procedural textures)

  22.   Now, with LW 3.0, i render the same scene in 1 min. 32 seconds !
  23.   Anyone with the 4000 want to render the same scene and post the results?

  25. 2. One of the niftiest features of the new modeler is the boolean operations.
  26.    As you may know, your cutting object must be in a background layer, and
  27.    your object to be cut must be in the foreground. However, you usually want
  28.    to move your cutting object into position, then perform the operation, meaning you need to keep switching foreground/background layers. 
  29.   To simplify this, use the " key, which quickly switches between foreground
  30. and background layers. There is no menu button for this command.(its in the manual
  31. tho, for those who never read manuals-the chapter on commands without screen
  32. control are worth looking at:-)

  34. 3.  a question-if you have, say, 4 layers selected and active, and you want to
  35.      deactiviate just one of them, can you do this easily ? or do you have to
  36.      deactivate all layers, then select the ones you want ? Shouldn't the 
  37.     layer buttons be able to be toggled by clicking on them (on/off) ?
